MCA was invited to participate in a competition to design a center containing a media library, an art school, a multipurpose hall and exhibition space.
The proposed design provides for the division into superimposed “boxes”, to each of which is assigned a macro function; the rotation of each floor with respect to the next causes the building to present polyhedral elevations that define a continuous succession of circulation spaces inside and outside the building; the roof, accessible via a ramp from the park next door, is conceived as a public garden with vegetation and street furniture.
